Timber beams can be added just for effect. A very nice effect. Don't you think so? Douglas fir is chosen for the this project. More of a formal look in this case for the Von Trapp Family Lodge.

Those look nice, i like the "beefy" ceiling beams. For rustic beam look you can add faux beams which are pretty easy to install and look good.
