Heavy Timber Trusses

Although I love the look of our Hammer Beam Truss, if choosing for myself, I would choose our Modified King Post Truss. I like the simplicity of the design and the extra height you gain from raising that bottom chord.

Great Room and a Great Weekend

How about taking the long weekend and start planning your great room addition? I think that is a GREAT idea.

I have a timber truss project planned for my personal great room addition. Doug has given me a sketch and I can't wait to get started. Since my home is conventional framed, I feel the great room can't be a full timber frame. Transitioning needs to well thought out, as I may need to add timber accents to the existing areas.

If you are planning a great room addition or a timber frame addition of any kind, give a call. We would love to hear from you. 802.886.1917

Heavy Timber Truss Design # 3

Our very pretty SCISSOR truss...

Not as structural as the King Post or the Queen Post, this truss design will add height to your great room. The steel shown on this truss is purely decorative and our joinery pegs are cut flush. Gorgeous!

How about a Scissor Truss for a commercial heavy timber project? Sounds great!

This double chorded scissor truss design is supported by a steel super structure and spans 60 feet. Yes, I said 60 feet!

Whether you are thinking residential or commercial, big heavy timber project or small, Vermont Timber Works is the timber framer for you.

Great Room Scissor Trusses in OAK

This scissor truss in red oak with steel accent is just what our client envisioned, and Vermont Timber Works was happy to help out. 4 Timber Trusses were created to span the great room.

We worked very closely with Mr. Baudo on design options and finish samples. The red oak with a 2 step finish process is what was chosen. One coat of minwax natural and then a 2nd coat of minwax english chestnut. Look for photos as this project is just about finished and will include a coordinating timber mantle as well.
